Estee's Baby Shower 9/19
My good friend Siu invited me to her dil's baby
shower today and I went with Nesi while dh
stayed at home with Loni..Manda was the mc
for the evening and had lots of fun games for
us to play.
I arrived fashionably late and brought a diaper
wreath with me. Before getting to the baby
shower I stopped off real quick at Albertsons
to see if they had Johnsons Buddies soaps
to add to diaper wreath. I found that they had
8 left on the shelf for $1.65, used (8) $1 off 1
Johnson's Baby coupons and paid .65c ea.
after coupons. Then I see the Huggies wipes
64 pack is $2.99 ea. with a $1 peelie on the
front. So I get three of the Huggies wipes
and double the $1 off 1 peelies and pay only
.99c ea. after coupons & doubles. So that
really added to the gift basket that I took
along with the Diaper Wreath.
They had alot of guests, great food and Estee
was looking really great for 8 months! We only
stayed for half an hour or so, then we had to
come back home to go shopping for Nesi's white
dress for the Primary Program tomorrow.
Walking It Out.......
Moms Thursday" and would like to
join in on the fun, It's about setting
a goal to set aside one hour of time
within a week to do whatever you
want, without the kids. So on Thursdays
you can post what you did with your
hour of "me" time on Heather's page
with a link back to your blog, so
that other mom's can see what you
did with your hour of free time.
I just joined my friend, Feina's
Biggest Loser Weight Loss Group last week
and the goal is to weigh in at the
start & pay $20 ea. then lose as much
as you can before the next weigh in
which is next month on the 10th.
Whoever loses the most at weigh in
on the 10th wins all the money collected
from each person that paid the $20 due.
So, It's pretty fun! They've been
really successful for the past year or
so and this is my first time joining.
I weighed in at 286..ughh (the heaviest
I've been ever!) and am looking to at
least drop 10 lbs. (realistically) by
the 10th & keep working down from there.
So far, I've been walking in the evening
with my kids but not going far distances
like I use to on my own.
I've packed on about 100 pounds after
having the two youngest ones and not
shedding all the baby weight after.
Plus snacking while blogging and not
burning it off after is what has gotten
me to this point.
So this morning I actually woke up at
4am and started walking to the gym in
our complex. I started for 30 minutes
on the elliptical and walked for 30
minutes around the complex taking in
that fresh air and feeling great.
Came back and drank tons of ice water!
ahhh. refreshing H20, great workout,
house is still quiet and an hour of
time to myself...can't beat that one..

Looking forward to the 28th:)
Ok, so you're wondering why I'm looking forward
to the 28th, I just ordered myself a Cricut Expressions

things that I'm going to do with this cool

and got a really great deal on it.
I've been wanting it for so long and now
it's on it's way. The shipping is free, and is
part of the bundled deal!! If you don't want to
pay the full price immediately, you can make
it in 5 installments..not too shabby:)

New places, New Friends:)
I've just joined, The Homeschool Lounge and
have met many wonderful women on this
network and so glad to have found them.
For the past few weeks, I've been contemplating
whether or not I'm going to do homeschool..and
after joining this group, I'm going to just start out
with my 4 year old and see how that goes.
While on there browsing through their Duggar
Group, I came upon the "Duggar Set of Rules"
and thought that we truly need this list in our
home. In case you're wondering who the Duggars
are..they're a Christian Couple with 18 children
now expecting child #19. I love watching their
show on The TLC Channel. They have a
website also that you can visit them at, go here.
(This is their most recent photo, from their site)
I asked my oldest daughter, Tia to come and
copy the list so that we may post it in the kitchen,
the kids room, and our room. I'll find a better
way to post and frame it for our living room.
Their "Tater-Tot Casserole" dish is a favorite
in our home and is always served at least 3 times
a month or more. I really look up to Michelle
and Jim-Bob for raising up their family in Christ
like ways and constantly try to do the same for
ours.
Hope you enjoy their List of Rules..
1. Always use soft words, even when you don’t feel well.
2. Always display kind actions and joyful attitudes, even if you have been mistreated. Have the right response by quickly forgiving others in your heart even before they ask.
3. Always be enthusiastic and look for opportunities to praise others' character.
4. Always deflect praise and be grateful to God and others for the ways they have benefited your life.
5. Always use manners and be respectful of others and their belongings.
6. Always do what is right, even when others may not, or when no one is looking.
7. Thank God for how He made you, for what He has given you and everything He allows you to go through. (Romans 8:28)
8. Don’t mock or put others down. Develop compassion and pray for others.
9. Never argue, complain, or blame. Quickly admit when you have done wrong and ask for forgiveness (even if you were only 10% at fault). Don't wait till you’re caught. Be sure your sins will find you out. He who covers his sin will not prosper, but he that confesses and forsakes it shall find mercy.
10. Have a tough accountability/prayer partner to daily share your heart with and to keep you in line (your parents, spouse). The power of sin is in secrecy.
11. Be attentive and look for ways to serve others with sincere motives and no thought of self-gain.
12. Think pure thoughts (Philippians 4:8, Romans 13:14).
13. Always give a good report of others. Don't gossip! Never tale-bear unless physical harm will come to someone. (Use Matthew 18.)
14. Never raise a hand to hit.
15. Never raise a foot to kick.
16. Never raise an object to throw.
17. Never raise a voice to yell.
18. Never raise an eye to scowl.
19. Use one toy/activity at a time. Share!
20. Do your best to keep your surroundings neat, clean and organized.
21. Never let the sun go down on your wrath. (Don’t go to bed angry or guilty)
22. Amendment J.O.Y. -
Put Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last.
Gotta love J.O.Y. - That one is my favorite....

New Blog Finds...
Yes, I was blog surfing again and somehow
ended up on this cool blog called, Isla
Pacifika:) They're a group of dancers based
out of the Chicago area.
First thing that caught my eye was their
post yesterday on, "How to make a Pa'u
skirt" and I was really interested in
sewing a little something after I got a
sewing machine to learn on.
I'm pretty excited because I've never
sewn anything Polynesian or whatever.
but, I was down to run to Walmart and
grab a couple of yards of the cheap $1 yd.
fabric & elastic to try it out at home.
If you're interested in making a Pa'u
skirt and don't know how to go about
making it..visit these guys and check
out the Pa'u Skirt directions here.
If I ever finish my Pa'u Skirt, I'll most
definitely post it here.
