YW New Beginnings Went Well

Just got back from church and with no more
muffins:)yay. It went well, all the parents came
to see their daughters get their new books,
3 of them received their medallions and it
was wonderful.

I waited til I got there to pipe on the fresh
whipped cream:)

Lemon & Red Velvet Cupcakes with Fresh Whipped
Cream  Topping. The girls sprinkled it with toppings
from Kathleen.

Blueberry Doughnut Muffins & Lemon Cupcakes.

Flower arrangements by Kathleen

Chicken Sandwiches by Lani, crackers & dip as well.

Good ol' H20

The girls each received a special box with beautiful book
marks for their scriptures, pendants in organza bags and
the personal progress booklets and cards. All done by
Our Personal Progress Teacher - Kathleen. Thanks Kat!

Displayed are the previous YW Medallions and the new
YW Medallions with a Genuine Ruby embedded in the
necklace. Sorry didn't have a close up of that one.

The girls each received the New Personal Progress Books
that came out this year.

YW Values: Choice & Accountability, Integrity, Good
Works, Faith, Divine Nature, Knowledge, Individual
worth and Virtue.

My batteries ran out the rest of the evening so I'll be posting
those up tomorrow from Kathleen's camera.

Blueberry Doughnut Muffins

I am a Money Magnet posted her recipe for Doughnut
Muffins and I had to make these today!
The recipe calls for nutmeg, I added blueberries instead
since I didn't have the nutmeg. It's got a light, fluffy taste.
The kids like it alot. But these will go to our Young Women
New Beginnings Program tonight at 7pm.

Fresh Whipped Cream to top off the muffins!

Organizing at Home...

Yes, this totally is how I feel this week.
[pic: organizingsolutions.info]

One of the things that I wanted to do this
week is be more organized in all things and
have my family be on board with me. I find
that everyday I'm going through the same
routine of putting things away for my husband
and kids while trying to keep up with my
business, blogging and church callings.

Here's what I asked everyone to do, all the
way down to the youngest person in the house.

  • kids will put back their own books on shelf after reading.
  • Mel [dh] place his work clothes in laundry hamper after work, instead of placing his clothes with concrete stains, etc. on cream colored carpet.
  • no more shoes on the rug, leave them on tile at doorway. I am working on placing something cute at the door for everyone's shoes.
  • No more eating in the rooms. I do not like finding dishes under the bed, shelves..ugghh..
  • I've switched us to eating from paper plates, to save on our water bill and less time washing dishes (meaning no more dry hands for me!)
  • Leave my office supplies alone and use their own supplies for school, etc. I don't know how many times I've had an important phone call and no pen in sight after filling up my cup of pens with new pens, markers & highlighters. See pic. below on how I want it to be..lol. Does anyone know where I can purchase this?
  • Place the shoes on shoe racks in closet instead of floor and everywhere else.
 picture from apartment therapy.com

I'll post up the before and after pics. in a little bit.
I just had to get on and vent before cleaning up!
How did your day go? Please feel free to comment
as much as you want! I could use some tips right
about now...

WAT-AAH! Review & Giveaway

We've had the wonderful opportunity of reviewing
WAT-AAH, The First Sugar-Free Brand of Water
with Function Specially Targeted to Kids and Teens,
courtesy of the PR Team at Let Water Be Water, LLC.

This new line of water is being launched by LET WATER
BE WATER, LLC. It is aimed at helping to combat the
obesity epidemic that continues to be a pressing public
health concern. According to the Centers for Disease
Control, 15 percent of children and teens are overweight
[almost 9 million], and another 19 percent are considered at
risk for becoming overweight -that triples the statistic rates
that were documented in the1980's. Yikes..

There's no other water product currently on the
market for kids and teens that can claim to be 100
percent free of artificial flavors, artificial colors,
additives and sugar. The first  tour of products
being introduced are:

  • WA-TAAH! Bones, ultra pure water with magnesium to help bone growth.
  • WA-TAAH! Brain, utra pure water with added electrolytes to encourage faster absorption, hydration and cooling down.
  • WA-TAAH! Energy, ultra pure water with oxygen for increased metabolic function and energy.
  • WA-TAAH! Bones, the foundation for the brand with simple and super clean spring water, absolutely free of sugar.
While soft drink and sugar filled drink
manufacturers are finding themselves
increasingly un-welcomed in schools and
at family events, WA-TAAH! has not only
been accepted into many leading private
and public schools and after -school facilities

throughout the New York City area, it is also
recognized for it's health benefits as a better
option to sodas and other sports drinks
targeted towards the young crowd.

My Honest Revew!!

When our box arrived from WA-TAAH! The kids got
so excited and automatically knew it was for them!
We were asked to place the bottles in the fridge with
soda and have them pick which one they wanted to
drink. Well we didn't have any soda in the fridge or
in the house, just apple juice. But do you think they
waited until I placed it in the fridge to let them choose
so that I could do my vlog? Nope, they were arguing
over who was getting which bottle. They love the
the clean, crisp taste and the cool graphics on the
labels and box.

My 6 year old read the labels and enjoyed Energy,
we started laughing after he drank his bottle, he
started zipping  down the hall and came running back
and said that he feels more energetic. Sad to say,
they finished the 4 bottles in that one sitting and wanted
more. I love this product and will definitely buy these
for my kids as soon as it is available for us here in
the North West region of the US. Here what we love
about WA-TAAH!
  • That they come packaged in BPA free bottles
  • Bottles are packaged by fun, exciting graphics that appeal to today's youth.
  • They contain "NO" sugar, added color or additives.
  • They taste great! [ fresh, clean & crisp taste]

Hosting a House Party

I haven't done a House Party in a while just
because I've been pretty busy and all. I did
visit House Party to see what kind of events
they have lined up and they got some pretty
great ones. I signed up to host a Sandwich Thins
Sandwich Revolution House Party on Feb. 27th
with my our young women and I just got notified
that I'm now a confirmed host!

I feel better hosting another one, now that
I have a working digital camera/video. The first
one gave out on me when I was supposed to
host the Windows 7 Launch Party and The
Ford Game Party..depending on other people
to take pics. didn't work and I'm still trying to
get the pictures from those 2 big events.

Plan on hosting a party? Why not sign up with
House Party :) They have lots of themes you
can choose from and you'll receive free items
and goodies to share with your guests just for
holding a party. You just need to follow their
rules and post up your pics. and stuff to stay
on the list of good hosts/hostesses.

Goods in The Mail Today...

I always look forward to
getting new goodies in the
mail, especially if they're

They gave me several $1.25 off coupons to pass out
to my friends to try the new Chocolate Cheerios. Not
a bad deal:) Got some more new magazines to read up
on. Did I mention that's one of my faves, is to read mags?
Got in some more Huggies and Pampers mailers with
great coupons inside. Will pass it on to one of my
bffs with babies.

Cake Bake Proposition

Isin't this cake stunning? Yes,
it's from Martha Stewart Living.

I was approached last Sunday by our
Relief Society Board to create a cake
for the RS Birthday Celebration on
March 19th. They asked me for a price
and I told them I would get in touch.

They were looking at something in
this range but Gold and Royal Blue.

I asked them what flavors they
wanted and they're letting me choose
it. But The would love just 3 cakes
like this one. Nice and elegant.

Somebody asked if it was going to be fruit cake. I almost lost my footing and did
a double take and said, no. It'll either be red velvet cake, lemon cake or a rich
dense apple cake. Still thinking on the fillings. We're also decorating the gym too.

So that's covered as I spoke with Lani [our YW president] and the YW will be
decorating. I asked if it's for the evening and they said, yes. It will be wheeled
in during the dance. hmm, that makes me nervous. I'd rather have it done and
set up at a table instead.

I've been going over the materials I'll need to make this happen and getting
tons of tips from master baker websites. Do you have any tips that you'd like
to share? I'm all ears and would love to hear back from you.

Journal Entry for Friday 2/12

Got Loni ready for school and his Valentine's cards
[Harry Potter] and his treats bagged up ready to go
this morning. He came back from school a happy
camper and talking about how much fun he had.

My gums are finally healing up and I'm now able to start eating solid foods. It was
going crazy for 4 or 5 days not being able to eat like
everyone else in the household and as much as I'd
like to take my meds and sleep in. It wasn't happ
ening.

I lost about 6 pounds within the 5 days I was on
the liquids and soups only requirement. Today I
just went crazy on the white rice and hamburger
helper I made for the kids. Yes, I kinda regret it
after the fact. But, I actually felt full and knocked
out after.[not good]

I just put the kids to bed and just feel peaceful that
the house is quiet and I get to blog or blog hop for
about an hour or two [it's now been 3 hours] and
the dishes in the kitchen are calling my  name as
well as my coupons that are still spread out in the
living room on the couch. The bathrooms need to
be cleaned and I just can't stand to look at anything
right now.

It's now 1:05 am. I can't sleep and I'm thinking
about baking the brownies the kids kept asking me
to bake earlier [trying to avoid being around the
temptation] so that they can cut out heart brownies
for their dad for Valentine's day.

Finally paid our rent today since we got paid from
a job we did. So that takes some stress off my
list of things to get done. I got a load going in the
washer and one in the dryer. So far, so good.

Stepping away to go load up the dishwasher and
get that going, while I put my coupons in  a shoe
box til' I get to it in a couple of hours.

Girls Weekend Together

Girls having fun on Saturday shopping..
Hinalei, Nesi and Nataliana

This was a wonderful weekend for me and
my kids. My older kids came in from Salt
Lake.

Well, just my daughters. My son had a
wrestling match today and wasn't able to
come. I miss him alot and told the girls

that they'll need to take back a care
package for him. Which is those big
plastic bins.

My girls got here on Friday night 2/5th
at 11pm on standby. They told me as
soon as they got in the car that they're'
soo hungry and want to go and eat.
They were waiting for 8 hours at the
airport in Salt Lake. My parents told
them to come back home and try to
come another day but they insisted on
waiting to make a flight to pdx

Portland. I'm really glad that they
made it.

We left the airport and headed straight for
Jack in The Box and got them chicken sand
wiches with fries from the value menu. Then
we got home and talked all night until they
fell asleep.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed
out to go coupon shopping and hit up 3 different
stores. We had fun at Walgreens getting some
free blood monitors and $10 cash back in Regi
ster Rewards.

Leaving Fred Meyers, heading out to Safeway. pic. 2] Nataliana & Loni

We enjoyed our time together and went
to church today. The girls had fun at church
meeting up with their friends again. I don't
want them to go back but, I told them to
come back again this upcoming Friday for
the Youth Valentines dance and this time
with their brother, Ami..

I'm worried about him, because my mom
told me that he's lost so much weight and
fears that he's not eating enough at the
house he's living at. I told her that I'm
making him a care package filled with cans
of chicken noodle soup, bottles of Powerade,
2 boxes of popcorn, Ritz crackers, Quaker
Granola bars, lots of cereal, a Derek Jeter
Cologne Set, chapsticks, packs of apple sauce,
bag of Craisins, and more. I was hoping that we
wouldn't surpass the limit of 50 lbs per items
checked in. Yay for us, it was only 47 pounds.

We cooked Teriyaki Chicken and Rice
for dinner before taking the girls back to
the airport to catch the 5:45 flight back to SLC.
So the girls will be doing good and not be
starving at the airport. The ticket agent is
really sweet and let them go. Dropped them off
and having a hard time saying bye. But we had
a group hug and I watched them disappear around
the corner to run to their gates. Looking forward
to seeing them again next Friday.

Visiting the Oral Surgeon

Yesterday I called the dental clinic and told them
that my teeth were hurting and I needed to be seen.
So they told me to come in at 2pm. Great! I've been
missing my appointments and this time I finally made
it in. I overcame the fear and just went.

I checked in and waited for about 20 minutes til' I
got called to go in. They took full xrays and told me
that they're going to remove 4 that day. I was happy
because I hadn't been to the dentist in 6 years and
it's been long overdue.

They removed 2 of my wisdom teeth a molar and
some other tooth. They asked me if I took drugs
and I laughed and said, no. But that my fillings were
just coming out and that I never took care of it beca
use we didn't have insurance before. Sure we had
the cash to pay for it..but I didn't take care of it. I
didn't take my pre-natal vitamins when I was pregn
ant on the last 3 and that's when I started noticing
the weak teeth and all.

So she numbs me up on both sides, we wait for about
5 min. then she goes in on the first one and can't seem
to get it out. Even though I'm numbed up I could still
feel the pressure and it actually started hurting when
she was struggling to pull it out. I just thought I was
going to die in my chair and I thought, oh God just let
this whole thing be over with and I'll never eat another
dessert again!

The remaining teeth are removed with no problem.
After stitching my gums up she told me to stay clear
of solid foods for a couple of days and I'm thinking
it's all good if I'm going to shed a couple of pounds
from that!

Later on last night I finally picked up my Vicodin to
kill the pain and ended up going to sleep without
taking them. So far, so good. I woke up and just
didn't want to take them, because I had to many
things to finish today & didn't want to be sleeping
most of the day.
