Girls Weekend Together

Girls having fun on Saturday shopping..
Hinalei, Nesi and Nataliana

This was a wonderful weekend for me and
my kids. My older kids came in from Salt
Lake.

Well, just my daughters. My son had a
wrestling match today and wasn't able to
come. I miss him alot and told the girls

that they'll need to take back a care
package for him. Which is those big
plastic bins.

My girls got here on Friday night 2/5th
at 11pm on standby. They told me as
soon as they got in the car that they're'
soo hungry and want to go and eat.
They were waiting for 8 hours at the
airport in Salt Lake. My parents told
them to come back home and try to
come another day but they insisted on
waiting to make a flight to pdx

Portland. I'm really glad that they
made it.

We left the airport and headed straight for
Jack in The Box and got them chicken sand
wiches with fries from the value menu. Then
we got home and talked all night until they
fell asleep.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed
out to go coupon shopping and hit up 3 different
stores. We had fun at Walgreens getting some
free blood monitors and $10 cash back in Regi
ster Rewards.

We enjoyed our time together and went
to church today. The girls had fun at church
meeting up with their friends again. I don't
want them to go back but, I told them to
come back again this upcoming Friday for
the Youth Valentines dance and this time
with their brother, Ami..

I'm worried about him, because my mom
told me that he's lost so much weight and
fears that he's not eating enough at the
house he's living at. I told her that I'm
making him a care package filled with cans
of chicken noodle soup, bottles of Powerade,
2 boxes of popcorn, Ritz crackers, Quaker
Granola bars, lots of cereal, a Derek Jeter
Cologne Set, chapsticks, packs of apple sauce,
bag of Craisins, and more. I was hoping that we
wouldn't surpass the limit of 50 lbs per items
checked in. Yay for us, it was only 47 pounds.

We cooked Teriyaki Chicken and Rice
for dinner before taking the girls back to
the airport to catch the 5:45 flight back to SLC.
So the girls will be doing good and not be
starving at the airport. The ticket agent is
really sweet and let them go. Dropped them off
and having a hard time saying bye. But we had
a group hug and I watched them disappear around
the corner to run to their gates. Looking forward
to seeing them again next Friday.

Visiting the Oral Surgeon

Yesterday I called the dental clinic and told them
that my teeth were hurting and I needed to be seen.
So they told me to come in at 2pm. Great! I've been
missing my appointments and this time I finally made
it in. I overcame the fear and just went.

I checked in and waited for about 20 minutes til' I
got called to go in. They took full xrays and told me
that they're going to remove 4 that day. I was happy
because I hadn't been to the dentist in 6 years and
it's been long overdue.

They removed 2 of my wisdom teeth a molar and
some other tooth. They asked me if I took drugs
and I laughed and said, no. But that my fillings were
just coming out and that I never took care of it beca
use we didn't have insurance before. Sure we had
the cash to pay for it..but I didn't take care of it. I
didn't take my pre-natal vitamins when I was pregn
ant on the last 3 and that's when I started noticing
the weak teeth and all.

So she numbs me up on both sides, we wait for about
5 min. then she goes in on the first one and can't seem
to get it out. Even though I'm numbed up I could still
feel the pressure and it actually started hurting when
she was struggling to pull it out. I just thought I was
going to die in my chair and I thought, oh God just let
this whole thing be over with and I'll never eat another
dessert again!

The remaining teeth are removed with no problem.
After stitching my gums up she told me to stay clear
of solid foods for a couple of days and I'm thinking
it's all good if I'm going to shed a couple of pounds
from that!

Later on last night I finally picked up my Vicodin to
kill the pain and ended up going to sleep without
taking them. So far, so good. I woke up and just
didn't want to take them, because I had to many
things to finish today & didn't want to be sleeping
most of the day.

Theta Mom Thursday - Catching Up on Shopping

Finally got some me time this morning. After
I dropped off my 6 yo at school. We were run
ning low on cereal and snacks for the kids in
the kitchen. So I drove up to West Linn's
Albertsons to stock up on the Quaker Deal
that had ended on Tuesday. [I got 2 rainchecks
for the Quaker Cereals & Quaker Chewy Bar]

My good friend Yolanda picked me up Monday
night and we got there to empty shelves and
no more Quaker Cereals and Chewy Bars which
is how I got the rainchecks.

It was great going in and not having to worry
about chasing after the kids. I got in and got
my stuff and got out. So how much did I get?
Let's just say, I think I'm covered on cereal
for the whole year, I grabbed 25 boxes at $1
each when you buy 5 and then used the $3/5
Quaker coupons which brought the cereals to
$10 for 25 boxes, same thing with the chewy
bars, 5 for $5, got 35 boxes- [7] $3/5 coupons
and paid $14.00 OOP [out of pocket] for the
chewy bars. total of $24.00..not so bad:)

Got back home and put the shopping away
and relaxed after doing the laundry, by pain
ting my nails. Click on Theta Mom's button on

their Thursday.

Are You A Survivor?

I just posted up my review of The Survivors Club by Ben
Sherwood on my other blog. I totally related to this book
from my own experience in Hawaii a while back. It's something
that I had tried to forget about, but now know that God had
me stay a little longer and maybe there is something bigger
in store for me here on earth.

Summer of 95' I was a 21 yo married mother of two. We
traveled to Hawaii for a 2 week summer vacation with
my ex-husband and older son, Ami and daughter, Tia to
try working on saving our marriage.

At the time we were separated and living in 2 states, the kids
and I in Utah and he worked & lived in Texas at American
Airlines/ American Eagle. He came down and suggested that
we go to Hawaii and try to work it out. So we went.

Things were good for the moment and the kids were enjoying
the visits to the beach and all. On the second week of our trip
we decided to take our last trip to the beach before we head
back to the mainland.

We were sitting at a distance from the sand on the grassy area
and enjoying his 1st cousin's plate of bbq that he cooked for
us. I decided to walk down to the sand and just watch the waves.
At the time they were posting up signs that big waves were
coming in or something. I was a good distance away from the
water so I thought I was safe. So I sat down to think about
my marriage and if I wanted to save it or not. I knew for sure
that I didn't love him anymore because of the physical beatings
and the mental abuse, I guess I really just wanted to get away
from work for two weeks to see what Hawaii was actually like.

So I figured what my answer is going to be and I get up to
head back to where everyone is sitting at on the grass. All
of a sudden, I see everyone jumping up, screaming and waving
their hands and running towards me. I feel like something is
right behind me and as I look back, I see a huge towering
wave right above me and the next thing I knew, I was in it.

I was fighting my way back to the shore but it took me back
so fast, I couldn't fight. Okay, it didn't help me that I didn't
know how to swim and all I was doing was doggy paddles.
I know..that sucked big time. I could see everyone from our
picnic area was on the shore and I thought, ok God, I'm
ready to go..so I stopped paddling and just let go.

Next thing I knew I washed up on the shore and my shirt
was missing so my ex threw a towel on me quickly. I asked
what happened and everyone just said that I'm lucky to be
alive. I sure was. I don't know what it was, just that God had
given me a second chance at life and that I had to do my best.

Now I look back and know that I've come a long way and
have learned from that experience. Are you a Survior as well?
I'd love to hear your stories. Please link up to your Survivor
Story only not the home page. Look forward to hearing from
you!
